Heat Recovery Installation Aids
Tank Tap Adapter
HotSpot has developed and manufactures it's Tank Tap tank adapter that makes it simple to convert any standard hot water tank into a heat recovery tank. The adapter consists of an all-copper coaxial fitting that replaces the 3/4" boiler drain that comes standard on a hot water tank.
The Tank Tap adapter allows you to add ports to the
tank by providing additional inlet and outlet
ports on any standard hot water tank, so that the normal
plumbing at the top of the tank does not have to be disturbed
during installation. You can adapt any standard water
heater tank into a heat recovery tank for use with
a geothermal hot water generator or ECU/heat recovery
systems.

Air Conditioner Water Heater (ACWH) Extended Installation
The HotSpot Hi-SEER ACWH has the heat recovery system already
built into the AC unit. The ACWH includes an installation
kit with a 12.5 ft. refrigeration line set to connect the
outdoor unit to the indoor fan unit. If needed, the line
set can be extended up to 50 ft. HotSpot can provide you
with a 25 ft. extension kit(s), see below. |

For commercial users, may we
also suggest.... whenever
you install a heat recovery water heating product in
a high usage environment, you can maximize the efficiency
and savings and increase your available hot water supply
by adding a pre-heat tank. This allows the heat recovery
circuit to heat water in a new tank that does not contain
it's own heat source. The pre-heat tank sits in front
of your existing main hot water tank, and when new
water is drawn into the main tank it is already heated,
limiting or eliminating the need for the conventional
tank heater to operate.
See heat
recovery pre-heat tank options.
